Simple(r) UV Strobe

I was digging the idea of strobing ultraviolet light throughout the haunt walkup. I asked about UV LED's on the Halloween-L and Grim Shady let me in on a cool idea. He had just designed a very flexible UV strobe circuit and posted it on his web site.
Grim was the first to create a circuit design for the strobes and his design has already been put to use in fellow haunts with great results.  (Check out Grim's original circuit design
I decided I would give it a try:  See my first version of Grim Shady's UV strobe design

After building the first one, I realized it would take me quite some time to get 10 of these built.
So I started my quest for the Simple(r) UV Strobe:

I started with the LED Blinker kit from EKI ($4.00) and quickly mocked up a prototype on a bread board.  The EKI kit provides most of the components and the circuit board for you. I updated the schematic and noted the changes.  P4180004  P4180003  schematic  list P4180006

Most of the new parts will fit into existing holes in the circuit board.  I didn't drill any new holes in the board, so I attached some components externally (as shown)  P4180007 P4180008 P4180010 P4180011 P4180012
